Very Small Aperture Terminal (VSAT)

About the service

VSAT is a satellite service for transmitting data within a private network, and for satellite access to internet services. The technology consists of small terrestrial terminals for satellite communications for reception and transmission. The networks are installed at various locations and are either connected to a HUB or connected to a satellite using small-diameter antennas.

CITRA is responsible for issuing VSAT licenses in Kuwait.
The following organizations may apply for a license;

Kuwaiti companies licensed by the Ministry of Commerce (other conditions may apply, please contact CITRA to learn more).
Governmental and non-governmental entities operating in Kuwait (other conditions may apply, please contact CITRA to learn more).

Required Documents

Kuwaiti companies licensed by the Ministry of Commerce working in the field of telecommunications may apply to CITRA for a license to provide VSAT satellite services with accompanying documents and submit them to CITRA's Board of Directors for consideration and decision by approval or rejection.
Governmental and non-governmental entities may apply to CITRA for a license to operate a private network of VSAT satellite services with documents indicating their need for this and submitted to the Board of Directors for consideration and decision by approval or rejection
