The Communications and Information Technology Regulatory Authority (CITRA) on Wednesday reaffirmed Kuwait’s continued commitment to supporting international efforts aimed at advancing inclusive and sustainable digital development.
This affirmation came through a series of interventions delivered by CITRA’s official delegation during the Telecommunication Development Advisory Group (TDAG) meetings currently taking place at the International Telecommunication Union (ITU) in Geneva.
Led by representatives from the Policy and Regulatory Affairs Sector the Kuwaiti delegation highlighted the country's pioneering regulatory experiences and key national initiatives in digital infrastructure development digital inclusion and capacity building all aligned with the "Kuwait Digital Vision 2035."
The delegation also emphasized CITRA’s proactive role in driving national programs focused on artificial intelligence cybersecurity and digital skills development.
Kuwait’s participation underscores CITRA’s commitment to representing the country in key international forums and reinforcing its position as an active contributor to the global ICT ecosystem.
TDAG meetings address a range of key issues of concern to member states including digital development strategies strengthening international cooperation to bridge the digital divide and leveraging information and communication technologies (ICTs) to advance the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs).
The TDAG sessions will continue through May 17 with participation from official delegations of ITU member states who are exchanging views on how to enhance the technical and field support the Union provides to developing countries to ensure optimal use of technology in serving communities.
