-- Chairman of Kuwait's Communication and Information Technology Regulatory
Authority Eng. Salim Al-Ozainah welcomed the Arab digital declaration made.
Speaking to KUNA in a statement on the sidelines of the 23rd
conference of the Arab ministers of communications, Al-Ozainah stressed that
Kuwait's support to the declaration is out of its faith in the joint Arab
action.
He underlined the importance of the ministerial meeting for
coordination, noting that the telecommunications and information technology
sector is the main part for economy of all countries all over the world.
The accelerated steps in this sector requires coordination
and cooperation amongst the countries, he said. He called for the Arab
unification and a regional bloc to play a key role in protecting the countries'
interests amid challenges caused by this big digital transformation.
He thanked Saudi Arabia for hosting the event and working on
making recommendations to be in the interest of the Arab countries.
It is an announcement of common principles to build a prosperous
and sustainable digital Arab community. The announcement includes five
principles for joint digital action namely, economy - our target, youth - our
drive, data - our fuel, innovations - our inspiration and unity - our strength.
