CITRA Participates in the 26th “Meetings of the Gulf Ministerial Committees”

Today, CITRA participated in the meetings of the Postal, Communications, and the Gulf e-Government Ministerial Committees for 2020 at the invitation of the General Secretariat of the Cooperation Council for the Arab States of the Gulf. 

 

CITRA mentioned in a statement to the Kuwait News Agency (KUNA) that the meeting, which was held in the presence of it’s CEO Eng. Salim Al-Ozainah, addressed many issues related to the cooperation of member states in the fields of post and communications, especially future directions for the work of the committees in light of the lessons learned due the Coronavirus (Covid-19) in the Gulf and globally. 

 

CITRA also mentioned that the formation of teams was agreed upon to study the reduction of prices of international connections among the GCC countries, as well as discussing the issue of consumer protection in the field of international communications and indicators, and the mechanism for settling disputes arising between operators and the State of Kuwait. 

 

Moreover, it was reported that the e-government meeting discussed many issues related to digital transformation in the cooperative countries as they were reviewed. 

 

Work progressed on completing the implementation of the second phase of joint initiatives for e-government strategy as well as the launch of a platform for analyzing malicious software related to cyber security. ​
